• Wetsuits for hire @£2 per day.
• A limited number of water proofs, so please bring your own or you'll be getting wet while in the boat as well!

The facilities

ESSA is a NO SMOKING site.
That means NO smoking anywhere on the site. This is all inside & outside areas, including all grassed areas, the picnic area, fueling areas, on the boats, etc you have to leave the site to smoke.

No Dogs Allowed on site except for Guide dogs.

There are changing rooms, showers, classroom, picnic area, barbeque and a club house style meeting room with a teaching area, kitchen and refreshment area are other facilities on site.

We have a range of single handed sailing dinghies that includes: Lasers, Pico's and Toppers.

Our double handed trainer boats RS Visons and Laser Bahia’s also have trapeze and asymmetric spinnakers. Our smaller doubled handed boats, the RS Feva’s have asymmetric spinnakers.

We have obtained funding to help towards the purchase of new boats and equipment. There has been support from Trinity House, Awards for All, Foundation for Sport & the Arts, Jack Petchey, John Merricks Sailing Trust, Hoddesdon Rotary and Hertfordshire Youth Opportunity Fund

This funding together with sales of old boats and income generated by our groups who use the facilities means that we now have a modern and exciting fleet to offer our young people.

We have two junior Dragon boats which seat 10 paddlers and a drummer. We also have Kayaks and rafting equipment which means we can offer alternative activities when it is not possible to sail due to adverse weather conditions.
